You don’t get that same response in bigger places. The community feel is great for business, especially where I’m based on Magdalen Street. I get a lot of support from other shop owners. Norwich is the perfect place to be setting up a new business right now. The potential is there for anyone to do well. In terms of more innovative businesses, especially in the hospitality sector, it’s a good place to get started.”

Home to one of the largest outdoor markets in the UK, you’ll find yourself weaving through the many street food stalls, soaking up the bustling atmosphere and letting your nose guide you to your favourite bite to eat. From fish and chips to ramen, empanadas to Instagramable sandwiches, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Take a wander down St Benedicts Street and you’ll find a mix of fine dining and authentic independent world cuisine restaurants – as well as some great cafes.

Norwich Lanes is home to some kitsch cafes, a falafel bar perfect for vegans, and a fantastic American style sandwich shop. Whilst in Tombland you’ll find a great spot for Sushi, as well as an independent vegan eatery and other chain restaurants. There really is something for everyone!

The only city situated within a National Park, Norwich is the place for adventurers, sport enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys a weekend ramble.

Whether it’s wild swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking or something else – Norwich’s waterways provide the ideal environment to enjoy different water sports. You can enjoy a leisurely ‘pub & paddle’ from Riverside, or even try your hand at sailing just a short walk from the city at Trowse (if you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll also want to check out the dry ski slopes here!).

Walkers are blessed with exploring our city and surrounding countryside. Walking through the winding lanes of Norwich, you’ll admire the architecture of our historic buildings and discover our history. Plus, we are situated next to the Norfolk Broads, where you can enjoy a long walk, a boat ride or a country pub. We’re 30 minutes from the coast where you can enjoy sandy walks along the beach and grab an ice cream.

Norwich Market houses a huge variety of different stalls, which you can spend hours browsing. From flowers and gifts, to vintage fashion – you’ll find the perfect purchase.

Speaking of vintage fashion – Norwich has a fantastic vintage scene. There’s plenty of shops selling vintage clothing and quirky antiques. St. Andrews Hall regularly holds vintage markets, so keep your eyes peeled.
